Bad Brakes! 1 Month, 4 Weeks ago
So my Giant Reign X1 I got new last summer has been nothing but hell in the brake department. (Hayes stroker trail's)

Anyone have any experiance with these? I'm constantly boiling them over. Yesterday did swampy->upperwhoops->whoops...bens....with NO rear brake whatsoever...the only good thing was I ended up sending it on everything on the whoops my best run ever on there.

Hate my brakes, front one works well but lever sticks.

Rear one has never worked right. I put new brake pads on...can still pull the lever to the bar with no resistance. I guess they need a bleed again ( 4th time ) I dont ride that much is this normal with mtb brakes?

Thinking I should get Sain'ts but they are so expensive.

I know what your problem is....... You have "Hayes" brand brakes. I have seen more issues with hayes than any other brake on the market. Hayes are crap; get new brakes. I'm an Avid rider myself, and have had no issues in the 3 years I've been running my Juicy 7's. Saint brakes on your Reign might be a bit overkill. Trash your Hayes and get some real brakes!

Thats what Hutches told me to "hayes are crap, get avid, formula, or shimano"

I got some new Shimano XT's installed last night, they were on sale at hucknroll, happy again I can stop, they feel way less cheese than the hayes too.

PS. Nick I finally rode the lair today this year, I still stay on the beginner line but I like it. What happened to the drop in the trees up near the middle, that was my fav part before. I really like the first couple jumps on the int line the big tables that i can build confidence without casing myself, the other ones freak me out with the gaps.
